What to Expect at Your First Chiropractic Visit
First off, welcome to our clinic! At East Hants Chiropractic Clinic, we want you to feel perfectly relaxed, at home and as comfortable as possible. If there is any way we can make your first visit or follow-ups better, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Typically, initial chiropractic visits last 45 to 60 minutes in length. We do ask new patients to arrive 15 minutes ahead of schedule so they may complete a patient health history. After reviewing your history, Dr. McCoul will consult with you to discuss the nature of your visit, your health history and what health goals you have in mind. Next, Dr. McCoul will perform a comprehensive health examination, which may include:
Postural Assessment
Gait
Range of Motion
Extremity Test
Orthopedic Tests
Neurological Tests
Chiropractic Spinal Exam
In some instances, we may refer you to an X-ray technician if your particular problem requires further attention.
Care Recommendations
Once your patient history and examination have been reviewed, Dr. McCoul will give you a report of his findings and explain your condition (or conditions). If Dr. McCoul feels he can help, and you think his diagnosis and treatment plan make sense, then a treatment plan will be provided to you, typically on the second visit. By explaining the details of your treatment plan in advance, there will never be any surprises during your follow-up appointments.
Custom Orthotics and Footwear
Even the smallest imbalance in your feet can cause pain and dysfunction throughout your entire body. Properly fitted prescription orthotics help restore normal balance and alignment of your body and bring relief from fatigue and pain.
